About Justin

YOUR LOVE HAS A STORY.

The billion dollar wedding-industrial-complex wants to convince you that you are only planning an event. Lost is the fact that you are getting married to the love of your life. Instead, the focus is on decorations, dresses, shoes – things. Much of the stress from wedding planning stems from stuff that doesn’t matter in the end. Why? Once the cake is gone, once your dress no longer fits and the flowers are wilted, the pictures remain. But your story endures.

Love is love, and I serve all couples. My focus is on you, your commitment and the special people celebrating with you. My journalism background reveals your story through the moments and emotion that make your wedding day unique. The smiles, the tears, the humor, and especially the powerful quiet moments between don’t escape me. I believe that your wedding photos needn’t be cookie-cutter; they can be honest, sexy, surprising, edgy, evocative and even weird. I collaborate with each bride and groom as they plan their wedding so they can make the most of their day, and so I can take advantage of the best light. Together, we can make compelling images that defy convention, and make your friends jealous. And, if we aren’t careful, we might have a lot of fun.

When I am not shooting weddings, I photograph stories in my community, but I don’t take myself too seriously.  Otherwise, you can find me painting, hiking, hanging with my two silly cats, and day-dreaming about photographing Great White Sharks off the coast of South Africa.

You don’t have to be part of the W-I-C. So, let’s see if we are a good fit, and find a package that works for you.

In collaboration,

Justin

PS: Also listen to this NPR podcast on the merits of discouraging your guests from taking pictures during your wedding. Its funny and informative.
