UPDATE: This wedding was featured in Chapel Hill Magazine. Many thanks to their editors and publisher, Rory.
Zach and Garrett were married at The Carolina Inn April 6, 2013.
Actually that isn’t true. They were legally married in New York City April 1, where same-sex marriage isn’t constitutionally banned like it is in North Carolina.
But amendments couldn’t diminish the smiles, the tears, the laughter and the wild dancing during this Spring celebration of commitment eight years in the making. Garrett and Zach made it official in front of family and friends not far from where they met at Lenior Dining Hall in college, and where Garrett proposed.
To this photographer, their union stands as a testament to the possibilities of love, family and community. Beyond that I had a damn great time shooting this celebration with North Carolina Wedding Photographer Courtney Potter. Mad props to Erin McClean, who ran a great wedding day!
