An Indian groom. A Japanese bride. A Muslim ceremony. At an Indian restaurant in a non-descript strip mall in Durham.
Their day was a fusion of traditions.
Saleem and Mana were married December 1, 2012, and Saleem’s brother, Sajid, contacted me the week of the wedding. Their photographer wasn’t going to work out and they needed someone to fill in. Sajid’s email signature is a Vanilla Ice quote “Peace in the Middle East,” so of course I wanted in on this shin-dig. And for this North Carolina wedding photographer, it was one to remember.
I wish the best to you Saleem and Mana, and I hope you enjoy these images as much as I did making them. In 2013, I can only hope to shoot more weddings like this one!
